Big news... WE HAVE INTERNET SERVICE!!!!!!

It's another Monday morning, wet and cool outside but everything is GREEN... for those of you living in Arizona, you know how nice this sounds...

I've spent most of the day researching our travels to Lille France this coming weekend.. Stuff like how to get there, where to park in Lille, learning about booking hotels on line, then choosing a hotel on line that has a park and ride close to it... Boy, being a world traveler is not easy... fun but not easy...

I chose a hotel 10 minutes outside of Lille.. it should be easy to get to from the direction we are coming from and there is a park and ride close by. We needed a hotel that we could check into late. Some hotels only let you check in until 9:00pm. Some let you cancel your reservations, some don't... I wanted one that was flexible, just in case something happens and we can't go...Man... all this stuff you have to think about before you book... then, if you can believe it.. I was nerves when I finally did book a room... and minutes after I got done, there were no rooms left in that hotel... Man, one has to be quick when one is doing this world travel stuff...

I decided to stay for two nights, we were only going to get a hotel for Friday night and sleep in the car on Saturday night.. I know that doesn't sound great but from what I've read about this Flea Market people shop from 2:00pm on Saturday until midnight on Sunday. That's right, they shop all night long...this event brings over 2 million people into the down town area of Lille...WOW... what an adventure this will be...
How in the world does one shop all night long.. ??? Anyway I decided to do two nights in a hotel, go back to the hotel when we are tired, take a rest and then go back for more treasure hunting... during the middle of the night of coarse... Don't know if these old bones are up to it.. but I'd like to think I can.

When we leave on Sunday, I'd like to drive over to the English Channel.. it's only about 45 minutes from where we will be...maybe see about spending Sunday night some where around there.. Get up on Monday do some sight seeing and then drive home... What do you think, anyone want to come along??? Just thinking about this part.. Not sure yet... I'll let you know..

We didn't do anything this weekend .. didn't want to spend any money knowing what our plans are for next weekend... we picked up some food to take on our trip but that wasn't to exciting. Watched a move at our house with Steve, that was okay... went to a couple small flea markets here in our area, but that wasn't to exciting either... I guess knowing that I'm going to the largest flea market in Europe, the others right now just don't do much for me... besides I love the French antiques, furniture, nick nacks and what ever. French and English are my favorite...I'm hoping to find just one special treasure to bring home with me...(maybe a chintz vase) something that when I look at it, it makes me smile and remember the fun in Lille France.. Oh, I'll be bringing my camera, so I'll be taking lots of pictures for my memories and to share with all of you.. I CAN'T WAIT... can you tell..
