Our long a waited day finial came... After two months in Hotel Europa in Ramstein we were more then ready to move into our duplex.. The first night in our new home was on the air mattress .. But the next day our bed came and we couldn't wait to sleep in it.. It had been 4 months ! Our 4ooo pounds of stuff we brought from Tucson arrived in Germany a couple days after we did, but it took us a while to find a home.. One doesn't realize that having your own stuff around you gives you a sence of home...
We didn't bring that much over. Our plan is to buy here and take treasures back with us... We stored just over 9000 pounds of our stuff with a company in Tucson. They will keep it until we return.
Every thing arrive safe and sound except our couch now has a small hole in it and a broken leg... We just bought it so weren't to pleased about it... We can send in a claim, but we've been told it won't do any good... Any way could of been a whole lot worse... What a day it was........

It was a Friday when our stuff came and that evening was the annual Street Party.. It has been going on for 6 years now.. We sure timed that right... We met several of our neighbours, most of whom I couldn't understand but were very nice. We had great food and when everyone was done eating the drinking started. Once the drinking starts its easier to understand people.. Funny how that is.... I took this picture from our duplex right before we joined the party..
We live on the end of a coldasack right next to the forest... It's great...

I've been keeping busy unpacking and decorating our new home.. Things in Germany are different, like kitchens that are very small.. I brought to much kitchen stuff and trying to find a place for all of it has been a bit of a challenge.. No garbage disposal, that I don't like! They just don't use them here... and all the garbage has to be sorted... One bag for paper, one for plastic, one for cans, one for glass and one for refuge.. So where does all the other stuff go? Beats Me!
Try it... you'll see that it's not that easy.... I have to ask myself, what's this!

Our village doesn't have much in it..But the next village over does.. It's about 10 minutes from our house.. On Saturday we went to this great bakery for coffee and a muffin... The German coffee is very strong and I don't drink much coffee but it was really good ... and the pastries are to die for... The nice thing is, it was not expensive. After we were done we walked across the street to a small farmers market and picked up some fresh vegtables. Cathy when you come, this place is on the list...Barbarossa Cafe...
I love all the old buildings and the art work on them... This is a restaurant in K-town we went to for brunch... WOW... Cathy this one is on the list too... Really really nice .... You will love it.
and not expensive either... 7.50 euro's.... that's like $9.00... Can't wait until you come visit... all of our family and friends are welcome to stay with us if you want...
Miss you all and hope you wake to a beautiful day....
