It's amazing what one can find for free or almost free here in Germany..

There is this Ramstein yardsale list ( like craigs list) on line that I spend a lot of time on durning the day. It's a great place to find everything you can possible be looking for.. Here are some of the treasures we have collected at no cost or very little cost in the last couple months..












The antique curio cabinet, couch and table and chair set were $30.00 for all. WOW....
The red leather lazy boy recliner was free.. (picked that up last night).

When people leave to go back to the States, they find they
can't take everything they have aquired while being here back with them.. So they try selling it, but a lot of the big stuff they have to give away. Most people here don't have trucks, so you have to find a way to get the free stuff home... The lady we got the curio cabinet, table and chairs and sofa from was leaving for the States the very next day. She said just take what ever you want.. Our friend Steve got a nice king size german bedroom set with mattesses for $20.00 from the same place. We paid a guy 60 euros to move it all for us and we split the cost with Steve. So it wasn't bad...
We have been to a few yard sales and the people have told us they can't even give the stuff away because no one can haul it.. It's expensive to hire someone to move it for you here. So people get stuck with their big stuff..
We have an old BMW station wagon so that has helped us some.. The red leather recliner we picked up last night was able to fit in our car..

When Mason said he wanted to get a station wagon when we got here, I thought you've got to be kidding me.. But I'm glad for it now...

I'm sure when we leave the same thing will happen to us and then we will be able to help someone out by giving our free stuff to them..

I have made it my goal to see if I can furnish our home with free or all most free stuff. It will take time, but I have lots of that .. When I find a job, then not so much, but right now it's great..

I could be done by now, but I'm being very choosey on what I get for free..Sounds funny but one can be picky when there is so much out there.
