Mason and I had a very busy weekend...

The birthday party on Friday night was good.. good company, good food and no wine... We went to a restaurant called Phuket.. Yea, I spelt that one right !!

Saturday morning we got up and went to find what we could find (out and about).. We always find some place new. But everything here is new to me, so that's not to hard to do... The weather all weekend was gorgeous..

Saturday night was another party... this one was at Mark and Susan's house.. A couple we met several weeks ago. That party was a lot of fun.. it was a pot luck / bochee ball night. I've never played bochee ball before but I found that I really like this game.. I creamed Mason and Steve ( I wasn't to tell ya. I gave up my bragging rights for a snake bite... that's a drink), but who's going to tell them I told you....
Steve came in last place and won the yoo yoo.. Someone had to be last !!!

Then Sunday was our adventure day....

Bad Durkhiem

We all enjoyed a hand full (or two) of the grapes along our journey through the vindyards.. Nothing like fresh grapes right off the vine..

We went on our first train ride to Bad Durkheim .. well first for me anyway.. We went with Steve, Ruth and several of her friends.. In Bad Durkheim once a year, they have the largest wine fest in Europe.. kind of like the Oktoberfest which is the largest beer party. The train ride was about an hour or so long. Then we got off and walked about 4 miles through a cute very old village and up through the vineyards.. If any of you have seen the movie Momma Mia, the part when her daughter is going up the long hill to the church to get married with all the guest following .. Well, that is what this reminded me of.. it was so cool..

I love that movie...

Anyway, the wine fest is a huge carnival with lots of rides, lots of wine drinking, lots of food and just a fun place to visit.. After walking through there, eating and drinking a little (not much) we took a stroll through a wonderful park. Found a cute little cafe alongside the cobble stone streets and sat outside to eat and rest before venturing back to the train station for home...

Fall is in the air and the leaves were falling so gently from the trees as we sat and enjoyed our meal.. The sun was shinning, the sky was a beautiful shade of blue and we couldn't of asked for a nicer day..

Mason and I shared one of these.. It was like two feet long !!

We were very thankful for our friend Ruth for making it possible for us to enjoy another adventure....

It's Monday morning for all of those I love.. have a great one...
